Students are admitted to certificate, master’s degree and doctoral degree programs throughout the year. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to facilitate a timely and successful entry into your FICS program. We will respond to your application within one month of receipt, and we request that applicants accept an offer of admission at least three weeks prior to the start of the first weeklong course in which they enroll.

New students will attend an orientation program on the Sunday evening prior to the Monday morning start of their first course.

Admission of international students

International students are a valued part of the FICS community and are encouraged to apply if they are permitted to study in the United States without visas. At this time, FICS is not able to accept degree-seeking students on foreign visas. We will re-evaluate this status will in 2019.

The application process for international students follows the standard requirements detailed above: Completed application and fee; Statement of Interest; official transcripts; résumé; and recommendation letters.

In addition, non-native speakers of English (international students) will document English language proficiency by scoring 500 (250 computer version) or better on the Test of English as a Foreign Language. All classes are taught in English and FICS does not provide English language services or English tutors.

Transfer of courses

Students may petition the Admissions Office to review courses they have taken at other schools to determine if they count towards their FICS certificate and degree requirements. Each case will be reviewed on an individual basis.

We will consider only transfer courses that include a pedagogy related to the Fox Institute’s, which includes academic course work in addition to full engagement with a contemplative, experiential component. The former University of Creation Spirituality and Wisdom University share this pedagogy.

To graduate from FICS, transferring students are required to take a minimum of three courses at FICS in addition to a thesis/dissertation.
